Environmental Wellness has to do with our relationship with our environment and the affect we have on our environment and its effect on us. When considering our environment, it is not only about our environment on a global scale. It also has to do with our personal home environment, work environment, and community environment. The other day as I was cleaning out my car, I realized that the environment even within my own car had an affect on me. I was suffering from a miserable cold and while driving I found no trash bag in my car to throw away used tissues. I found myself stuffing them in the side pocket of my car until I could throw them away. I was creating a disgusting germ infested environment within my own car.
To help solve the problem, I took an empty cute and colorful upright Kleenex box and stuffed it with 10 plastic bags, the type you get free at the grocery store. That way I have no excuse to clutter my car with old water or soda bottles, used tissues, snack wrappers or even peach pits.
Sometimes starting small with our own personal environmental space, even if it is just the car, is a good place to start.
